11/365: Les Misérables (Tom Hooper)
Grade: C

Despite outstanding pieces performed particularly by Anne Hathaway and Eddie Redmayne, this film was one horrible experience for me. The set looked amateurish and the students rebellion part took so long to finish. I kept thinking, just die or win the battle. Not to mention the cat and mouse part between Valjean and Javert. So many close-ups and shaky cams. Then the tilted angles too. If his habit continues, by the time Tom Hooper makes his next film, we’ll be watching the film upside down.
